A Dane County judge Thursday entered not guilty pleas on
behalf of a former Mount Horeb police lieutenant charged with repeated sexual
assault of a 14-year-old runaway who moved into his Madison apartment.
Dane County Circuit Judge Ellen Berz entered the pleas for
Dennis Jenks, 44, who also is charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation
of a child and 24 counts of possessing child pornography.
In July, the former music director of a Middleton church
pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting the same Beloit boy, who at the time
was living with Jenks.
James "Alex" Gillespie, 48, of Port Charlotte,
Fla., who was music director of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Middleton, is
scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 4.
