FORT WORTH (AP) - A former North Texas police officer who
pleaded guilty to child pornography charges has been sentenced to 15 years in
federal prison.
A judge in Fort Worth on Tuesday sentenced 47-year-old
Phillip Woolery of Crowley. The ex-officer in March pleaded guilty to
production of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Woolery, who also was fined $5,000, had been a Grapevine
officer for 17 years when he was arrested last October at home. He was fired in
November.
Postal Service inspectors connected Woolery’s home address
and email to the 2010 purchase of a DVD set with child porn images. Prosecutors
say Woolery in 2011 recorded a boy engaging in sexually explicit conduct in a
pool. Woolery also checked out online child porn websites.
