OZONE PARK — An off-duty police
officer was arrested Monday within the 106th Precinct, which covers Ozone Park,
South Ozone Park and Howard Beach, after authorities said they found five
videos containing pornographic images of underage girls on his computer,
according to a criminal complaint filed by the Queens district attorney’s
office and the NYPD.
Yong-Fa Wu, 34, was arrested
and charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a
sexual performance by a child, according to the court document.
The Police Department confirmed
that Wu worked for the NYPD.
The law firm representing Wu
did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The complaint said a special
agent was monitoring the sharing of child porn on peer-to-peer networks and
noticed that an IP address registered to Wu was sharing at least 60 files of
interest.
The agent then viewed five
pornographic videos on Wu’s computer that contained images of girls between the
ages of 8 and 12, according to the complaint.
