Ex-Fox Lake Police Chief Charged With Repeated Sex
Assault
DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ)
- A former police chief in Dodge County is due in court
Thursday on charges that he sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl in 1989
and stalked three people.
54-year-old Patrick Lynch was
arrested Wednesday, after the state Justice Department filed 4 felony counts
against him. Lynch ran the Fox Lake police force for 23 years before resigning
in February of 2009.
A woman who’s now 28 told
investigators that Lynch sexually assaulted her 21 years ago in the bathroom of
her family’s home. The woman also said Lynch later kept showing up at 2 banks
where she worked, and would drive his police car past her home.
Lynch is also accused of
stalking a woman who used to work for the Fox Lake Police Department – as well
as a man who was dating his ex-wife.
Lynch was suspended for 4 days
after he reportedly hit the man until he fell to the ground, and then kicked
him in the head during a scuffle. Authorities said that happened in 2007 at the
ex-wife’s apartment.
